Clare has been experimenting with oil paints made from natural earth pigments and walnut oil. This allows colour to be applied in varying degrees of translucency. Using a Geli plate as a printing surface, Clare is able to carefully build up layers of mono printed artwork, exploring texture, expressive mark making and organic form. “I’m aiming to create imagery that feels its origins from nature, composition that is unforced and gradual, with a subtle use of colour.”
These artworks measure 8" x 10" (20.32cm x 25.40cm) and are hand printed on recycled A1 Cartridge Paper 140gsm.
